Object Construction by Deduction for a 3 D - Geo - Information System of a Mine

چکیده

A three-dimensional Geo-Information System (GIS) for planning and operating a mine is described. On a conceptual level, the underlying database is speciied using the notation of Rumbaugh's Object Modeling Technique (OMT). The paper focuses on the problems caused by the implementation of such an Object Oriented Data Model by at relations as provided by a standard RDBMS. A running implementation is described which bridges the semantic gap between the object model and the Oracle Database using Logic Programming techniques. This implementation based on an eecient Eclipse-Oracle-interface provides a query language, tightly integrated in a Graphic User Interface applying TCL/TK and extending SQL by handling aggregated objects and spatial relations. 1 A GIS in the Context of Mining Planning of mining activities comprises comprehensive analysis of the geological situation and the characteristics of coal deposits as well as design and control of workings. Due to the particular risks of underground working, risk assessment and precautions make up an essential and highly responsible part of the mining engineers profession. Availability and easy access on reliable and actual data is an important prerequisite for the complex task of planning and operating a mine. The need to react on unforseeable events require ad-hoc access to and reasoning on the relevant data of the mine 11].
